Use E-mail for OTP Authentication

When using the PortWise authentication method Mobile Text, the one-time password (OTP) is usually sent as a text message to the user's cell phone. If you prefer, you can configure Digital Access to distribute the Mobile Text OTP to e-mail addresses. This is an alternative when the users predominantly use for instance Blackberry devices or cell phones to receive e-mail.

To achieve this, you configure an SMTP channel to use the e-mail address of your SMTP server, and to send the OTP to the information entered in the option SMS on the User Account General Settings page. This setting must be configured to be an e-mail address: either by specifying an e-mail address for SMS on each individual Digital Access user account, or by configuring directory mapping to use the mail attribute for notification SMS.

Note that the SMS setting on the Digital Access user account overrides the directory mapping attribute used for SMS.

By following these instructions you will configure Digital Access to send Mobile Text OTPs to users' e-mail addresses.
